Madrid based advertising agency Swing Swing created 120 Christmas presents for their clients and friends, illustrating their new year’s resolutions. Beautiful project.

Beautifully shot and edited video for Jack Daniel’s letterpress venture made by Arnold Worldwide. I especially like the custom woodcutting.

In 2011, we traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee to work with Yee-Haw Industries on a set of 10 letterpress posters.

The Print Sale is a collection of screen printed posters by The Click, created to raise money for good causes. Each print is designed in limited edition and are hand numbered. Hundred percent of The Print Sale profits are donated to a carefully selected roster of charities.

Kid Icarus is a two person print shop in Toronto run by Bianca and Michael. This super inspiring short from Stillmotion shows them working on some of their products in their small but cute shop. Be sure to check out their press page for some video process shots.

I’ve been meaning to feature my friend, educator, typographer and graphic designer Erik Brandt for a while now. Erik’s work is a fascinating mix of bold colors and typography, often with underlying political and environmental themes. Be sure to also check out his fantastic visual communication blog Geotypografika.

Most of you have probably seen the sweet Dexter inspired posters by Mattson Creative by now. They’ve been around the blogs for a while and are even on sale at Showtime’s official website.

What you have probably not seen is how the posters were made. Mattson recently published this cool time-lapse video where he gives us a glimpse at his screen while he works on the compositions in Illustrator. Hundreds of design decisions packed into a cool five and a half minute video. Love it!

So…after Lost finished I started to get into Dexter…and I have to say, I’m a big fan! I was so inspired that I decided to create one poster design for each season – highlighting the iconic moments from the show.

SantaMonica is a Barcelona based brand founded by architects and a designers with focus on handcrafted materials, organic inks and respect for the environment. Right now they seem to sell posters prints and apparel. As a biker I am in love with the Ride the Bike t-shirt pictured above. I think I may just get one.

There’s a lot of work involved in making a quality magazine. Some people don’t realize it but only the cover can be a labor of countless hours. A magazine cover plays a pivotal role in selling a magazine to readers and therefore should be really thought through.

This fantastic video shows how the process of making a cover for Macworld Magazine. From product photography and photo manipulation to layout and graphic design. The video is shown in a time lapse format which makes for an entertaining and fast paced experience.

Lots of details were left out of the design process (like the cover meetings and rounds of layout options). I began to photograph the design process after the layouts had already been narrowed down to just three cover designs.
